Thoughts on: Spotify responds to Apple, calling it a ‘monopolist’

This is getting silly at this point and I think Spotify is only weakening their case at this point. Spotify made its complaint and Apple issued a response. I would love Spotify on the Homepod, Apple Watch, be controlled by Siri and to be able to purchase it directly from an in-app purchase, but at the end of the day they are in Apple’s store and have to play by Apple’s rules. Based off from what I’ve seen from the evolution of Siri, the HomePod, and Apple Watch apps I really do not think Spotify is being singled out, if anything its Apple being unable to delivery a useable method for using these features. Homepod has been a flop, the Apple Watch has just gotten to the point with WatchOS 5 that apps make sense on it, and everyone knows Siri has languished for years. I have a feeling with iOS 13, WatchOS 6, and the next version of SiriKit we’ll see a lot of fiddly technical bits resolved. If not, then its Apple’s loss because there are plenty of alternatives to their platforms, namely Android, Sonos, Amazon Echo, and Google Home.
