How Apple’s walled garden dissuades added value

I think every professional Mac user has a story or two of hitting Apple’s walled garden. I certainly do playing with virtualization and boot camp years ago for college. I love my Apple gear for what is it, but I do not try to push it into weird niches that I know its not built for. If you want cutting edge niche stuff like VR or AR I suggest going with Windows for now. You may bleed a little bit though. Life on the cutting edge can be as painful as it is fun. As a Gen 1 iPad user I have many, many examples of this over the years, but today its my primary portable when I’m out and about or at home and not doing serious work (As in work that I make money from). Overall a good read. Looking forward to VR support on the Mac next year.
