Very cool interview. I never realized that Basic Apple Guy doesn’t have formal graphic design training. His work is so good that I just assumed he had a little bit. It really shows you that sometimes all you need it interest in something and the desire to express yourself to make wonderful things. I really love his wallpapers and even his mock-ups with the alternative Apple Watch Workouts. I think they’re a lot of fun and I really like how he does most of his work in Sketch and Pixelmator Pro, which I feel like is a lot more approachable tool than the Adobe Creative Cloud suite’s Photoshop and InDesign. They’re great applications and super powerful, but as a layperson I find that sometimes Indie tools are easier to wrap my brain around (And often take advantage of platform technologies better anyway). Not going to spoil the interview, but I just wanted to share it because I really love his work.
